L’École Buissonière

Andrea always had a creative bend, and throughout her life channeled her talents through artistic expression. She worked at and founded an Ottawa chapter of Montreals’ École Buissonière. École Buissonière is a pre-school that offers early childhood development through an introduction to the arts through dance, music and fine arts. Through artistic disciplines, the pre-school helps it’s students develop sensitivity, intellectual autonomy, creativity and openness to difference.

The Ottawa Food Bank

Andrea was the ultimate hostess and she always made sure there was enough food to share with everyone. She often overshot it, however we never left hungry! We chose the Ottawa Food Bank to celebrate Andrea’s love of bringing people together around the table and her appreciation for recipes and good food. The Ottawa Food Bank provides fresh and non-perishable food, as well as supplies such as diapers, toiletries, and cleaning supplies to its network of over 100 emergency food programs.

The Ottawa General Hospital

Andrea received the highest level of care during her time at the Ottawa Hospital by her wonderful team of doctors and nurses. Not only did they take exceptional care of Andrea, but they were also subjected to funny stories and a lot of “Andrea-like” fun during her stay. The Ottawa Hospital serves 1.2 million people across Eastern Ontario, and strives to provide each patient with the world-class care, exceptional service and compassion that we would want for our loved ones.
